Zinio
Reinventing the Reader Experience
Zinio is the industry leader for online and mobile delivery of magazines, offering over 2,400 titles for purchase from around the world. From day one, Zinio recognized the iPad could be the ideal platform for magazines.
Zinio had already teamed with Pervasent to develop its iPhone app. This work needed to be extended to take maximum advantage of the iPad’s unique dynamics and deliver a responsive and highly-interactive reading experience.
Every square inch of the multi-touch display needed to be utilized.

Making the Launch Date
Delivering an application that could meet the device’s potential in time for the iPad launch was the challenge. While the iPad is compact in size, the technology for processing and delivering digital assets to the device required a big effort.
"To meet the iPad launch date, we needed to execute a six month project in six weeks.
Having worked with Pervasent on our iPhone app, we were confident they could get the job done, and they delivered."

Chipotle
Bypassing the Long Lunch Line
The good news for Chipotle was that lines were often out the door at its restaurant locations at lunchtime. The bad news was that regular customers often had to wait in lines to get their tasty burritos.
Chipotle needed a mobile app that allowed hungry customers to find the nearest location, select from a full menu, securely pay for their order and choose a pickup time. The user experience had to be an extension of Chipotle’s branding: simple and fun.
Chipotle
Making Sure the Order Will be Ready
The biggest risk for Chipotle was that customers would order food and not find it waiting when they arrived at the restaurant.
In the solution Pervasent developed with Chipotle, each restaurant location enters available pickup times and the app relays this information back to the user’s phone. Integration with the point-of-sale system ensures orders are routed to the right location at the right time. In-store training was conducted to ensure the user experience was equally good from order to pickup.
Chipotle
Over 1 Million Downloads
Getting the rollout right was key to the app’s success. When launched, the Chipotle app quickly rose to the top 20 in downloads with a 4+ star rating.
A million downloads later, customers can order the “usual” with just a few taps of a finger and pickup their order at any of Chipotle’s 1000+ locations without waiting in line.

Board Papers
Building a Best-of-Breed Board Portal
With operations around the world and numerous board and sub-committee meetings, Standard Chartered Bank expends
significant resources preparing and delivering documents to meeting attendees.
Standard Chartered needed a solution that would streamline this effort, satisfy its security requirements and
take full advantage of the iPad to enhance their board of directors’ meeting experience. Finding no product that
could meet its goals, Standard Chartered teamed with Pervasent to build the Board Papers platform.
Board Papers
Keeping Documents In-House and Secure
A key requirement for the bank was that sensitive documents stay in-house. Available online solutions require
uploading documents to external servers hosted by the board portal vendor. Board Papers uses the bank’s
Microsoft SharePoint® system to store and organize document packs for meetings.
Triggered by entries in SharePoint, documents are automatically downloaded to board member’s iPads, updated
on-the-fly and archived after a set number of days. A "lockbox" built into the iPad app ensures only
authorized access to documents.
Board Papers
The Best User Experience on the Best Device for Meetings
The response from the bank has been overwhelmingly positive. Board members can go to meetings with their documents
on a single hand-held device. Walls of laptop screens are eliminated from conference room tables.
Cover graphics and animations provide a polished reading experience. Wax seals “unfurl” as documents packs are opened.
Board members flip through documents without delay. With a finger tap, text can be highlighted and notes entered on
any page.

Making a Strategic Move to Mobile
With over 200,000 publications, Hal Leonard is the world’s largest music print publisher.
As part of an overall strategy for the mobile market, the company needed an iPad app that
reflected its position as the industry leader and innovator.
The goal was clear. The app needed to “blow away” existing sheet music apps in
both features and ease-of-use. Additionally, the design had to offer the distinctive look
and feel found in all of the company’s initiatives.

Eliminating Stacks of Paper
Paper sheet music is increasingly being replaced by digital versions. The Sheet Music Direct
app developed by Pervasent automatically downloads and syncs a user’s library of digital
sheet music to the iPad.
No matter how big the library, the app makes it easy to find a song. Users can list their
music by artist, title or notation; “swipe” through first pages of scores; or
directly search for an artist or title. “Set lists” organize songs for quick
access or preparation for a gig.

Designed for True Musicians
Four and five-star reviews for the Sheet Music Direct app tell just part of the story. The
list of features for musicians is simply game-changing:
- Play back sheet music using the Avid Scorch format
- Transpose keys, change tempo, and select and mix MIDI output
- Automatic page turns during playback or using Bluetooth® pedals
- Adjust guitars and other instruments using an integrated tuner
- Preview or purchase sheet music from a catalog of 100,000+ songs
I have seen the future of sheet music, and it is this app.
